Candidiasis Symptoms

Candidiasis occurs when the level of candida in the body exceeds what’s considered normal. Generally, candida is kept under control by beneficial bacteria in the body. The worst symptom one may experience is diarrhea for a couple of days. If the helpful bacteria fails to rebalance the body, yeast can cause rapid and widespread overgrowth. When it’s in the mouth, the condition is labeled ‘thrush’. In the vagina, it’s referred to as ‘vaginitis’ or ‘yeast infection.’ Candidiasis could stay invisible or misdiagnosed for months if it’s in the digestive tract. During this time, candidiasis could trigger many uncomfortable symptoms.

Candidiasis covers anything from simple infections like vaginitis or oral thrush to potentially deadly diseases. Bloating, gas, and constipation are some common symptoms of candidiasis. It could make the afflicted person feel full although not much was consumed. Because candidiasis could interfere with getting foods’ nutrients, you can experience fatigue, hunger headaches, and low energy. Depending on the area affected by candidiasis, symptoms show in different ways. In some cases, on different areas of the body, you may experience itching, redness, and pain. Good thing is most candidial infections can be treated with minimal complications. Candidiasis is usually treated with antifungal medications, which could in cream or pill form.

Yeast infections occur frequently in the mouth, intestines, and vagina. When the infection is untreated for a while, the yeast could mutate into fungal form that plants root-like rhizoids underneath the surface of the mucosa. Often the person doesn’t realize that there is a yeast infection in the intestinal tract. But when it occurs, toxins that are typically prevented from entering the surface of the intestinal lining are free to invade the rest of the body. Such progession leads to a disorder known as ‘leaky gut syndrome’. This infection produces various symptoms of its own. Some symptoms include diarrhea, rectal inflammation, flatulance, bladder inflammation, thrush, and vaginitis. In the extreme case, it could trigger the immune system to attack its own body. Then one may experience muscle and joint pain, fatigue, vertigo, respiratory problems, eczema, hives, acne, psoriasis, insomina, and irritability. On the surface, such symptoms seem unrelated to the actual source of the problem.

Invasive candidiasis or Candidemia is another known complication. When yeast or yeast toxins enter the bloodstream, this condition occurs. Injury or surgery often could induce this disorder. When the blood is infected by yeast, chills and fever manifest to which antibiotics are ineffective. It can spread to the liver, kidneys, spleen, joints, and eyes, further causing harm.
