How many times have you been through a Cellulite Toll-Booth'?

You must be wondering what a 'cellulite toll-booth' is, right?

Well, if you've been on the 'net researching the 'cellulite' topic - it is VERY likely that you've been through one of them...

A 'toll-booth' website is a site that is themed on a specific topic (in our case, 'cellulite') - and it offers 'opinions' and various procedures and products that are connected to the website in a 'behind the scenes manner'...

All of the companies whose services and products are connected to the site PAY a fee everytime a visitor (you) clicks through to one of the 'behind the scene' sites...

Thats the model in a nutshell - hence the 'front' website is called a 'toll-booth' - becasue money is paid whenever a visitor clicks through to an 'advertisers' website...

This Spells 'Danger' for You

Now here's the problem...

The content (opinions, articles, 'reviews', etc) is written in a way that coaxes you to click the links that take you to the 'behind the scene' advertisers websites - This ensures the 'toll-booth' site makes as much money as possible.

The way these sites make this happen on a greater scale is by twisting and biasing the information, so that instead of eucating you and allowing you to make a well-informed decision - it misleads you into follwing the links to the advertisers sites - SO THEY GET PAID by the advertisers.

Most people can't tell they are on one of these sites - and can't tell the true info from the deceptive info...

I was recently doing some research for an interview I'm scheduled for - and I came across yet another 'toll booth' site - and to give you a specific example of how these are loaded with false advice - I've pulled a few sentences from it. Read this:

"[BLANK] can also help clients appear to having lost weight. Specifically, [BLANK] incorporates radiofrequency (RF) energy, infrared light, suction, and massage to increase blood flow and push fat cells back into the fat layer, where they won't show through the skin. Purportedly, while the light energy pre-heats the treatment area, gentle suction helps radio frequency energy penetrate into the fat tissue - redistributing and increasing a person's metabolic level. [BLANK] is asserted to not only redesign and eliminate the appearance of cellulite, but to also improve lymphatic circulation to promote better overall blood flow."

Here is where your BS detectors should have gone up:

"clients appear to having lost weight."
- cellulite redux is not about wt. loss

"push fat cells back into the fat layer, where they won't show through the skin."
- I dont even have to explain this one - just read it again

"gentle suction helps radio frequency energy penetrate into the fat tissue."
- you can suck your skin all day - it won't improve radio energy penetration

"redistributing and increasing a person's metabolic level."
- thre's no such thing as 'redistributing' a person metabolic level

"asserted to not only redesign and eliminate the appearance of cellulite"
- redesign cellulite - Ahhh that's anew one!

"improve lymphatic circulation to promote better overall blood flow."
- you can make your blood flow like the Amazon River - it still wont make your skin smooth

The Moral of Today's Report:

Be mindful of where your information is coming from and the motives of the messenger. This applies not only to the internet - but to TV, radio and even local 'presentations' that may be offered by your neighborhood 'beauty-enhancement clinic'

Anti Cellulite Exercise: The Right Exercises Reduce 'Young' Cellulite and 'Old' Cellulite
One of the most confusing aspects of cellulite is why it can be found in some young women, and not others - and how some women get it as they age - and some never get it at all.

When I say 'confusing' - I don't mean confusing to me - I mean 'confusing' to women, in general...

This puzzling aspect of cellulite is one of the top reasons so many 'cellulite treatment' products can be marketed so cleverly to the intended market: - women of all ages who struggle with cellulite.

My goal for this article is to give you a clear understanding of what causes the dimpled look of skin (what is commonly referred to as cellulite) - in women of all ages.

Let start with the younger woman. It's not uncommon for teens to have cellulite. Though less prevalent in this age group - there are females who are not overweight - have a great shape to their body - but have the bumpy, dimpled texture of skin - in the butt and thigh region.

'Genetics'... My A$%!...

All too often this is labeled as being caused by "genetics" - as in 'being handed down from the mother or grandmother'...

Most of the time this is only partially correct. And here's why...

It's not the appearance of the skin that's been passed down genetically - but rather, its the natural level of muscle tone (I'm not talking about muscle bulk) - or lack of muscle tone in this case - that leaves a very soft and 'mushy' base for the skin to rest on.

Since the muscle structure directly beneath the 'cellulite' skin area has a tendency to be more atrophied in some women (this can be tied to genetics) - the out layer of skin simply has no choice but to 'pucker' and dimple - instead of laying smoothly tightened around well-toned, firmly lifted muscles.

The good news is that with the RIGHT exercises (anti cellulite exercises) - a young woman can get her muscles to respond. And by stimulating these muscle layers directly - atrophy is reversed and a natural toning, shaping and lifting effect occurs - resulting in a structural smoothing of each layer of the 'dermis' - which ultimately shows as a 'leveling' effect on the outermost layer of the skin - the one you see when you look in the mirror.

And this can happen with no change in weight. (and it can even happen if weight is lost - which is another topic I'll address in a future issue...)

"How does this happen?

Where do these lumps, bumps and ripples come from?

What's happening to my body?!!"

Not to fret...

The answer is easy. The reason is simple. And the remedy is basic physiology in action.

Around middle age is when the aging process starts to become evident and physiological changes result in 'symptoms' of physical decline...

One of the most common is muscular atrophy (your muscles get smaller, softer, flatter and weaker).

So, we can watch a young woman go through her teens, early adulthood maybe through a pregnancy or 2 - without so much as a spot of cellulite. For her - having tightly smoothed - great looking skin is something she is used to... But...

Middle age then rolls around - and without the right type of exercise routine - the muscle layers in all the female trouble spot zones begin to atrophy. They get flatter, they become 'limp' - and hey slowly get weaker.

This allows the skin that covers those muscle areas to get saggy, soft and dimply. The un-toned state of the underlying muscle layers - basically leaves the skin 'hanging' and without a firm base, the uneven texture is a natural side effect that is commonly know as cellulite.

So, what this ultimately shows us is that - the appearance of cellulite in a 17 year old as compared to a 72 year old is caused by the exact same thing: soft, undeveloped, flat, and limp muscle layers directly beneath the cellulite areas.

Cellulift Cellulite Gadget Can't Remove Cellulite

Every January, Frances M. Berg, M.S., editor of Healthy Weight Journal, presents the "Slim Chance Awards" to promoters of weight-loss & body enhancement schemes.

Many of these 'slim-chance' offerings make claims to cellulite reduction/removal - some directly and some indirectly.

I'm going to send you a full list in a future issue - but I had to share just one with you today...

In 2000 - There were 5 'winners' of the award - here's one of them...

Worst Gadget: Cellulift

Resembling a toy highway packer set with rows of wheels, this electrically powered gadget supposedly "glides over skin, flattens the appearance of cellulite by means of heat and vacuum from front and rear rollers.

"Instructions are to apply a special massage gel twice a day to thighs and buttocks, leaving it on for 5 minutes, then starting up the toy road-packer/massager and tracking it back and forth over the area for 10 to 15 minutes.

One is to believe that the motorized rollers squeeze and massage the skin layer, while heat penetrates deeply and suction provides the special lifting action called "cellumotion."

The truth is that "cellulite" is a quack term for ordinary body fat that on some women appears texturized, especially on the upper legs.

It's a random physical condition in women of all ages and body sizes.

 
Cellulift: Voted 'Worst Gadget'It tends to show up more with age because women usually let themselves get more out of shape as the years go by - meaning increased muscle atrophy, and therefore less tone and firmness in the muscle layers directly beneath the 'cellulite' areas.

That being said - it can also be seen in young women with less muscle tone than others - and in post pregnancy moms, who are trying to figure out - "What happened to my body..." and are trying to find out the best way to "get their 'sexy' back"...

5 Harmful Cellulite Exercises

Recently, I came across another 'confusing' article about cellulite reduction. What really got me angry is not only how misleading the article is - but also the harm it can cause to the typical woman.

See, as I mentioned in a previous issue - not all exercises get rid of cellulite. But furthermore - there are many 'gym' exercises that are just not meant for the female body (some of these exercises even injure men - but guys usually hide their injuries - because they don't want to look like wimps).

The article mentions 10 exercises. I've listed half of them here - just to give you an example:

1. Seated Leg Curls

3. Hip Adductions

4. Hip Abductions

5. Leg Presses

 
These Are Not Cellulite ExercisesThe first key problem with these exercises, insanely and falsely being misrepresented as "cellulite reduction exercises" - are that they each can only be done on an uncomfortable workout machine - which means you'd have to subject yourself to the sweat, stench and stink of your local gym - not to mention the inconvenience this imposes on your busy schedule.

The second, and the BIGGEST problem is that these are the type of exercises that I speak about on the home page of this site - They are exercises that DO NOT deliver the desired effect - which is targeting the exact muscle layers below the cellulite trouble spots - and therefore WILL NOT smooth and tighten your skin.

Why Waste Time and Risk Injury?

Why You Must Be Skeptical About Anti Cellulite Products and Treatments

Cellulite products generate hundreds of millions of dollars every year. But it is rare - extremely rare - that any woman ever sees true cellulite reduction as a result of using one or more of these products.

The few that do see cellulite reduced are the ones who were advised to include exercise as part of their 'cellulite treatment program'. But not even all of these women get the results they were promised - after spending their hard earned money on a cleverly marketed product or treatment.

It's no wonder why so many women develop a higher level of skepticism with each failed attempt at cellulite reduction. It's a psychological game of cat and mouse - where the cat rarely - if ever, actually catches the mouse (woman never gets rid of her cellulite problem).

After 2 months - and making it to every scheduled treatment session - her butt, thighs and lower belly still look the same. She is now embarrassed. Embarrassed at the amount of money she has wasted - and at the number of times she has been duped. Her skepticism reaches an even higher level. And its really going to take some crafty, convincing marketing to take advantage of her in the future.

But she still wants to get rid of her cellulite as it affects many areas of her life. So, secretly, she keeps looking. She researches liposuction for cellulite reduction - only to come away even more confused by learning that liposuction can actually make the appearance of cellulite worse - and even cause the dimples and bumps to appear on women who never even had it before.

Right Idea - Wrong Approach

She remembers hearing that exercise is 'supposed to get rid of cellulite'. Some of her friends said it does - others told her it doesn't. She figures she has nothing to lose by working out for a few weeks to see what happens.

For 5 weeks she is dedicated and motivated. Circuit training 3 times a week, cardio 4 times a week, toning class 2 times a week...
