Subject: IM eCourse
Key One: Knowledge
Hi and I'm glad to share the Seven Keys to Internet Marketing with you.
Internet marketing is interesting. One one hand, it's incredibly simple. If you understand a handful of core principles, you can make money. On the other hand, there are so many complicated strategies, ideas and techniques that the whole ballgame can be wildly confusing.
This series is going to focus on those core principles. When you have those basic building blocks in place, it's that much easier to digest and use all of that other information in a meaningful way.
And it all starts with knowledge.
No, you don't have to be some kind of sales and marketing guru to make money online. And if you're worried that you're going to need the skills of some advanced technological wizard to turn a buck, you can let out a deep sigh of relief.
Sure, that expertise can come in handy. It's not necessary, though.
The knowledge you need falls into two different categories.
The first is a knowledge of core principles. That's what this ecourse is all about.
The second is a knowledge of overall strategy. You need to get a grip on how the various “parts” of Internet marketing really fit together to produce those massive earnings you want.
If you just dive into the deep end, trying to ingest, decipher and synthesize everything you see, you're going to have a tough time. There's just too much and a lot of it won't make sense without context and a base understanding of how IM really works in the larger sense.
The best way to acquire the knowledge you need to position yourself to make money online is to read and learn from a guide constructed specifically for that purpose.
There are a million and one different IM “guides” out there, but you don't want to begin with one that only tackles a tiny part of the whole. You need to start with a fundamental guide that will break down the processes and functions that make Internet marketing work.
A word of warning: It's tempting to skip the fundamentals in hopes of finding a quick fix. Many people try to go about it that way. Can you guess what happens? They either flop and give up on their dreams or they start over and repeat their errors until they realize the need for that fundamental knowledge.
Everything You've Ever Wanted to Know About Internet Marketing but Never Dared to Ask is a top-to-bottom examination of how and why people can (and do) make money on the Internet. It's a great resource for acquiring the critical first key to IM success!
Get a solid education in the basics. Don't try to take a shortcut. That's the first step to realizing your goals!

Key Two: Commitment
Hello again! The last time I mailed you we discussed just how important it is to develop a powerhouse Internet marketing knowledge base. If you haven't looked at Everything You've Ever Wanted to Know About Internet Marketing but Never Dared to Ask, I hope it's on your IMMEDIATE agenda.
You're not going anywhere in this business unless you have that foundation in place.
Today, we're going to look at the second key to IM success—commitment.
You probably haven't heard that much about the role of commitment in Internet marketing. There's a reason for that: It doesn't sound fun.
Seriously, who wants to read an email or an article about how important it is to remain committed? Apparently you do (you're reading this now), but most people don't get that excited about the subject.
Nonetheless, it's a hyper-critical element of Internet marketing success for a few different reasons.
First, it can take a while for some people to really understand how this all works and to put it all together. That can be an outgrowth of different learning styles but it can also be the result of scheduling crunches. Many would-be Internet marketing moneymakers are holding down dayjobs until they get their own businesses rolling.
If you don't have a commitment to making this work, it's easy to abandon ship. That's bad news because it renders your earlier efforts meaningless. Even worse, it keeps you away from reaching your goal of generating a good income online.
Second, implementing a successful approach can take a little time. It may also require some trial and error. If you have a gnat-like attention span and need to make a million bucks in your first week to stay motivated, you're a longshot.
Results can happen quickly, but you need to be willing to see them through.
Commitment isn't something that can be taught in an email. I can, however, tell you a few ways to increase your chances of seeing this through to the point where you're really making money.
First, make sure you're entering the scene with a good sense of the fundamentals (remember the first key). When you have things “figured out” it's easier to work your way through the process. I recommend Everything You've Ever Wanted to Know About Internet Marketing but Never Dared to Ask as a means of getting that perspective.
Second, remember why you're doing what you're doing. You aren't just doing this for giggles. You want something. More money. More freedom. A way to take control. An alternative to working for someone else. More family time. Keep your objectives in mind and it will be a lot easier to stay on task.
Old jokes are repeated because they contain a certain kind of honesty. Case in point:
How do you get to Carnegie Hall?
Practice.

Key Three: Focus
If you're like a ferret—easily distracted by shiny objects—Internet marketing probably isn't the best choice for you!
If, on the other hand, you can retain focus to complete individual tasks as part of a larger scheme, welcome to the big happy world of making money online!
Thanks for reading. We've discussed two keys to Internet marketing success, knowledge and commitment. Now it's time to look at the third critical element, focus.
Don't worry, this doesn't mean that you have to be a single-minded robot or anything. You don't need to be the kind of person who can sit in place, studying for hours, either. In fact, there are a lot of people in the IM world with diagnosed attention deficit disorder conditions who are raking in fortunes right now.
When we talk about focus, we're more interested in the idea of sticking to a plan.
One of the biggest killers in this business is that people are too often tempted to jump from one approach to another without finishing anything. They hop fences in hopes of greener pastures. Unfortunately, they spend so much time hopping that they never have a chance to graze.
If you want to make money online, you need to determine a plan of action that fits you and then you need to see it through. One of the best ways to make that happen is to start with a well-rounded understanding of a primary technique. That way, you'll be able to map out a multi-part plan that you'll want to finish. You'll want to finish, because you'll know it's going to work!
Everything You've Ever Wanted to Know About Internet Marketing but Never Dared to Ask is a great resource in this respect. It marches through major proven Internet marketing strategies and even provides “case studies” that illustrate the process clearly. When you have information like that, it's easy to come up with a plan that will keep you excited, motivated and focused.

Key Four: Action
We're ready for the fourth key to Internet marketing success! This is the part you've been waiting for, right?
We talked about building the knowledge base. We went over the matter of commitment. We covered focus. Today, we're going to talk about an absolute essential.
Action.
Ideas are great. Knowledge is wonderful. You have a great idea and you're sure it will work? Awesome. You're in position. You won't see a single dime, however, until you put it all into action.
Believe it or not, there are countless people out there who go through the process of learning and who are dedicated to coming up with an awesome way to make money with Internet marketing who never “take the plunge”.
For whatever reason, they stop short of taking action and it dooms them.
If you've done your homework, you should be ready to take action. If you're not there yet, get a copy of Everything You've Ever Wanted to Know About Internet Marketing but Never Dared to Ask as soon as possible and prepare yourself to succeed.
You can talk the talk.
Will you walk the walk?
Action. It's probably THE key to Internet marketing. Acquire perspective. Assemble a plan. Put it into ACTION.

Key Five: Leverage
We've covered four of the keys to Internet marketing success. Now it's time to look at one of the most often overlooked aspects of building a truly successful business. I call it leverage.
If you think back to middle school science, you'll remember that the lever is one of those basic, simple machines that underlie all subsequent machines and tools.
Levers allow us to lift and move things that we can't pick up. In a way, they multiply our strength and ability.
I'm not a physics whiz, but you get the idea. What you might not understand is how it applies to making money with Internet marketing.
The most successful marketers find a way to get maximum leverage out of everything they do. They don't just write an article and post it on their website. They use that article in other ways and in other places to maximize its profitability, for instance.
But it's not just a matter of leveraging output. It's also a matter of leveraging your time and your effort. That's where concepts like outsourcing (which is neatly discussed and analyzed in Everything You've Ever Wanted to Know About Internet Marketing but Never Dared to Ask) come into play.
There's only one of you. How are you going to get the most out of yourself? How are you going to get the most out of the things you do?
If you want to maximize your profitability and success, the answer is obvious. Leverage.
It's a big deal. It produces big results.
“Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world.”
Archimedes said that. I can't promise that you'll ever move the world, but I can assure you that you will make more money.

Key Six: Organization
We're coming down the home stretch of the seven keys to Internet marketing success.
Today, I want to talk about organization.
WAIT! Don't stop reading!
Look, I know that organization isn't a particularly sexy topic. If you a list of the least exciting things in the world, there's a strong chance that organization would break the top ten. I get it.
But I'm begging you take it seriously.
Keeping things organized and usable isn't that tough when you're just starting out. As time, material, projects and everything else piles up, however, things often get a little messy.
Managing your time effectively may not seem like a big deal—until you start making money. Then, you won't like the idea of wasting time with poor organization and planning.
It can be devastating.
You waste time (which is money). You forget critical tasks. You become frustrated. It's just a drain across the board.
And when it gets bad enough, it will absolutely crush your Internet marketing earning potential.
If you want to stay organized, you need to make a consistent effort from the beginning. Don't let yourself fall behind. Stay on top of things. Everything You've Ever Wanted to Know About Internet Marketing but Never Dared to Ask does a great job of addressing the role of time management in Internet marketing. Make a plan. Stick to the plan.
In the long run, you'll be really happy you did. An organized marketer can flat-out do more (and do more faster) than someone who's wallowing in confusion.
If you want to hit maximum success, maintain organization. Period.
All right, you made it through the sixth key. Next time, we're going to wrap up this IM success series with the last component.

Key Seven: Growth
Welcome to our last email outlining the seven steps to Internet marketing success.
Today, I want to talk about growth.
Growth, in an Internet marketing sense, can mean many different things. It might involve expanding a successful operation and hiring employees. It could mean increasing the number of markets in which you're active. It might mean “doubling up” on your current output. It can also mean adopting new strategies and techniques in an effort to increase your success.
No matter how you slice and dice it, growth is a big component for those who want to really make the big money online. There's an old saying in business: If you're not growing you're dying. That might be an exaggeration, but not by much.
Growth is what separates the hobbyist from the professional. It's the line of demarcation between part-time earners and folks who make thousands a day from a few hours worth of work.
You start with something like Everything You've Ever Wanted to Know About Internet Marketing but Never Dared to Ask. You combine that essential fundamental knowledge with the right mindset and a few smart techniques. The money starts coming. Then more of it.
At some point, though, it's going to stop unless you grow.
The best marketers thrive on a series of diverse income streams. They profit from the use of multiple techniques. They don't just come up with one profitable plan and rely upon it exclusively. They understand that putting all of one's proverbial eggs in a single basket is just too risky and that growth offers the best defense AND offense.
I hope you have an idea of the principles that lie at the core of successful Internet marketing and that this ecourse crystallized some of those key factors for you.
There's opportunity in Internet marketing. There's unparalleled profit potential and the unique chance to build one's own business and to take control of his or her own life.
There's nothing like it and I hope you do everything necessary to make it work for you.
You deserve it!
